I just put a new 8.5-25x40 on my Ruger target 10-22 . Not impressed with it at all side by side my Bushnell legend on 5-15 power is sharper and brighter than the Mueller on 8.5 to 15 power and on 25x the Mueller is a joke .IMO The Bushnell is very very sharp through the whole picture, side to side and very clear and bright , the Mueller is not . I am shocked as i have heard nothing but praise about the Mueller scopes . I just e-mailed the company i got it from , to see if i can return it .

You might have gotten a bad scope. I have the same one on my 22 and it is a very nice scope for the money.
