Later this year I'll be picking up a second barrel for my savage 10 action. While it will eventually go on its own dedicated target action, I was planning on switching back and forth with the current 308 barrel. Problem is I'm installing my AAC brake hider on the 308 barrel this week. How does one deal with timing the brake on the initial install, then keep that timing when reinstalling and headspacing the barrel down the road? Should I just bite the bullet and return the brake for a flash hider? (no timing required) or am I set up with a quasi-index point for later barrel swaps? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
