Gunsmithing Muzzle brake question

What are the muzzle brakes called that look like the stock barrel with holes in it ?? A friend had one like this years ago and it seemed to make good bit of difference.

Anyone have any info on these type of breaks or who does them ??

Several do. But it depends on who mounts it as to how well they fit together.

We do brakes like that, but I suspect you are thinking of Magnaporting which is usually done to the barrel itself. Our brake is a seperate piece

Check out Harrels brakes. I have one getting installed on my rifle as we speak and am picking it up this weekend if you can wait for some pics.

Stockade has brakes on their accessories page. I don't know anything about them, but stockade has a great reputation and the brakes look like what you were describing

Vais brakes and Badger Thruster brakes can be made to match the contour of the barrel. A search for muzzle brakes (instead of breaks) may be more helpful

The brake on my T/C was done at their customshop. The 375 H and H mag recoil is down on par with a 30-06 but strange also the noise is down! More of a pistol pop! I like it!

Any brake that is very productive in actually calming recoil is based mainly on surface area period!
