I am looking for a clamp on or slipover muzzle brake for around $50, but I can't seem to find one that will fit over my .820 barrel. Does anybody know of one? Are there muzzle brakes made for other rifles that would fit in mine?
This flash hider goes to .824 so it would be loose by only 4 thousanths of an inch. I could probably use some loctite on it or something. Only thing that makes me hesitate is how cheap it is. Goes for only $16. Has a cool little weaver rail under it too.
A flash hider is not a brake. A quality clamp on brake for $50 does not exsist, sorry. The only game in town (actually the world) for a good clamp on brake is the Roedale.
There is no f'n way I would mount that flash hider to my rifle...is that thing made out of resin?
I put a bolt-on brake on my FAL and only took two shots before it went flying never to be found again. I'd recommend finding someone to thread and install a good model. Spend an extra $100 and get a proper setup, so you won't be sorry like I was. Threads all the way now for me.
Threading is the best option and is what I would recomend.
Clamp on only will work 100% for guys who do not have, or cannot have, or dont want threads. But the size of the muzzle must be within tollerance of the size that the bake is designed to clamp.
Ours works and its been tested thoroughly. I cant speak for other purely clamp on types.
