looking for an effective break for a savage 110 ba .338 with 5/8 x 24 threads. Until battlecomp puts one out i would like to get feed back on what you guys think is the best out there as far as aftermarket. the factory break is ok but after puting a battlecomp on my .308 i know there is better out there. Let me know what you are using and how it proforms.

It's BRAKE BTW.

My choice would be the APA Fat Bastard.

I got a awesome 4 port brake from muzzlebrakesandmore works very good on a 338 ultra, great buy

Just as a data point for your consideration:

My 338 rifle weighs 12lb all up and has the Sako brake on it.

My buddys 338 weighs 20lb all up and has the Fat Bastard.

We both shoot the 300SMK, but his go ~100fps faster than mine.

His rifle's perceived recoil is way, Way WAY more than mine. He agrees, so it's not just me.

Google JEC muzzle brake. They are made in Texas, work very well, and are priced right. I'm in the process of putting one on a 308 barrel and another on a 300 WM barrel.
