Advanced Marksmanship Muzzle Velocity and Wind corrections

I have my basic holds for different wind speeds for my 175gr rounds at a muzzle speed of about 2600fps.

How does adding about 140fps muzzle velocity change those holds, if it does? I hope I'm being clear.

Let me put it another way. Let's say I'm shooting BH 175gr at 2600fps at 500y with a 10mph full value wind I have to hold 1/4 mil. Would I still have to hold 1/4 mil if that round now had a muzzle velocity of 2740fps?
I would think it would change just a bit, but maybe not enough to make a difference.

BTW, i just made up the hold value for the purpose of the question. I don't have my true numbers with me.

Thanks
R.

Re: Muzzle Velocity and Wind corrections

Increase the muzzle velocity in your ballistic computer and see..

it really doesn't change it a lot, it will change it more at distance, but probably not as much as you think. The real answer is, you have to go out and shoot it.

But use JBM Ballistic Calculator and see what it says. Better than guessing a .2 difference at 1000 yards.
