MWS: Correct Buffer & Spring for PRS Stock?

Re: MWS: Correct Buffer & Spring for PRS Stock?

AR10 or LR308 buffer and rifle spring. Unless you're going to use one of Slash's buffers, which isn't a bad idea. Be sure to use the replacement screw that comes with the PRS or else the buffer will hit and you'll have problems. And, you need the PRS for the .308 or charging handle will hit the cheekpiece.

Re: MWS: Correct Buffer & Spring for PRS Stock?

I used the standard DPMS rifle length receiver extension, buffer and recoil spring from DSG Arms in my LMT and Endine kit from Brownell's in my Armalite AR 10 to install my 2 PRS stocks.

Re: MWS: Correct Buffer & Spring for PRS Stock?

I cant say for certain about the PRS, but with the UBR it uses the tube that comes with it (which is a "carbine" length system). AR10s use a "commercial" tube, not milspec. The buffers are different (shorter in comparison), the springs are also different but not sure if it is different enough to matter. AR15 buffers (of any length) are comparatively too long & wont give the bolt enough room to travel.

Re: MWS: Correct Buffer & Spring for PRS Stock?

You need the ar 308 rifle buffer and spring not AR15 but the buffer tube is the same either way.
or
Slash's buffer and XP spring ~ this is what I did.
Works great.
