My .308 Build

Just picked up my rifle from my gunsmith today. I had the action trued, barrel chopped to 20", and duracoated. It was also dropped in a HTG stock, with CDI bottom metal. I also upgraded my SWFA SS10x42 to a IOR 2.5-10x42 (Thanks to Scott at Liberty Optics)

The work was done by a local gunsmith Bob White who is big in the benchrest community. He does great work, and I am really happy with the outcome.

The rifle started out as a remington 700 5r

Specs
Rem 700 5r .308 Barrel cut to 20" w/ 11˚ Crown
McMillan HTG Stock Bedded & Inletted for CDI DBM
Trued Receiver and bolt
Badger tactical bolt knob
Rifle basix trigger @ 2lb
Seekins 20 MOA base, and Low Rings

Not sure yet, just put the scope on it today. Going to try and get it to the range sat.

I was able to get to the range last saturday and the saturday before that. Last week I shot some remington 180 grain ammo.

This was my best group @ 100 yards, but I know the rifle is more capable. I have to practice a lot more.

I was going to get a tac force drag bag to replace my hard case, however lapolicegear had a 5.11 42" gun case on closeout for 49.00 so I jumped on it. The bag also came with 2 free magazine pouches which was a nice surprise.

I also placed a order with rifles only for a tab gear rear bag, and some of the iosso cleaning supplies. Scott from liberty optics also hooked me up with a butler ARD

The IOR is great, the glass is very clear. I just wish It had a little more magnification.
