My 5 year old son shot for the first time today!

My son Xander shot for the first time today. S&W M&P15-22. 20ish yards 5 out of 5 on steel. I supported the weight, he aimed every shot. Here is a pic. Target is the big one, furthest out. Yes he is holding the gun righty, but seems to be using his left eye.

Can't wait till my boy's first time. He just turned 3 and already has a rifle waiting for him in the safe (Chipmunk Match Grade).

Funny thing is, he has a nice single shot bolt gun that I restored(mu first rifle). Today wasnt planned, it just hit me that he was ready with the way he was acting at the range. I have brought him before, but I didnt get that feeling until this time. For sure his rifle will be with us from now on.

My boy will be 4 next month. Gonna be great when he finally gets to try out my "real" guns. He's already a crack shot with the airsoft shotgun I got him. So cool passing along the shooting tradition to future generations.

Range Time w/ Dad is good stuff. Make it fun with some reactive targets. Balloons, saltine crackers, etc. Good stuff, man....good stuff.
