I am fairly new to the hide so i thought i'd post some pics of my favorite "go to" rig. It's a 6.5x284 that eats 142SMK's. This was the first rifle i have ever smithed myself and built from the ground up. The target below has an interesting story. We went to a 500yd test day for prone competition. I had just finished the rifle Friday. Friday night i took new Lapua brass, guessed at 51gr of H4831sc (off the internet, i had no prior experience with the 6.5x284 cartridge) loaded for .020" jump and headed off to the range saturday morning. I was just going to have fun with it. I was shooting at the F-class target and nailed about 3x's in a row. The RO was kind enough to let us tac a target over the F-class target. I shot two of these five shot groups back to back. The vertical was 1.5"! This was off a bipod on a concrete slab. I was pleasantly supprised. The scope is higher than i'd like because i bought the wrong Nightforce rings but i have gotten used to it.
