Not a perfect match, but turned out pretty good IMO. Total time start to finish 2 hours including dry time.

Nope its not called FDE, its a pretty close match though. Found it on Lowes shelf. Its slightly lighter than FDE i believe, but the cerakote on my rifle is dirty, so its hard to really tell.

So I've decided to start over on this. It doesn't look like my paint is going to cure. Perhaps I applied it too quickly, or the primer had not cured yet.

I had this idea, and I'm not quite sure how bright it is yet... but I'll explain anyway. I use a stainless steel media tumbler to clean my brass, and I have this magazine, with poorly cured paint, so I figured why not give it a shot. I mean, besides ruining a $65 AICS magazine, what have I got to lose? I'll post results sometime tomorrow probably...

Did you scuff up the mag?

Paint isn't going to stick-at all- to a surface that hasn't been scuffed.

Yes I scuffed it up but it just didnt stick. Ended up scraping all the old stuff off with a razor blade and resanding. Cleaned with alcohol and resprayed, baking it in the oven between light coats. We will see how it turns out!
