I am finally able to have an custom AR made . And I need some help. I'm looking at the gap-10 an the POF. But I was wanting to get some opinions first. I'm wanting to stay in that same price range. What have u guys had the best luck with.

A POF, while based on the same receiver set as the GAP-10 by in large...is NOT a GAP-10 by a fairly wide margin. Both are highly capable rifles in the right hands with proper ammo, but the GAP-10 is hands-down one of the single most accurate (if not the most) and reliable tools you will find available today and is a true "custom" rifle. The major differences are the operation of the two with the POF being a gas-piston and the GAP-10 being a direct impingement. There are also a variety of other differences, but those being a couple of the biggies. Also, the GAP-10 can be outfitted as a true custom rifle in a variety of different configurations to best suit the end user in terms of caliber, barrel length, stocks/grips, etc., etc. whereas the P-308 is a factory rifle that you more or less buy and setup how you want it after the fact with respect to some options like triggers, stocks, etc.

Now, I love my P-308 20" and wouldn't trade it or sell it at gunpoint, but a GAP-10 it is NOT. If it is a "custom" rifle you want, settle for nothing but the GAP-10 and get it built the way you want it/need it right out of the gate.

JP would be my first choice.... Then Gap..... Both are great rifles and probably both are comparably accurate.... JP is lighter and IMHO has better fit/finish...Both can be ordered how you want them.....there has been several posts about what 308 to get and it seems these are the top 2 most agree.
