SR 15 Mod 2 Bronze. Don’t know why but I did. I’ve been looking at it for months and figured I’d give it a home today.
First mod will be to change the grip!

I see more than one 5.56 MAMS. Which do you recommend?

    http://www.operationparts.com/kac-k...-mini-mams-multi-axis-muzzle-stability-brake/

This version. Can be had quite a bit cheaper if you look around on the EE on AR15. It basically brings the recoil down to 22LR level.

I have the KAC 5.56 QD suppressor that attaches via the MAMS on all of my 5.56 carbines yet after shooting with the MAMS, I actually prefer to NOT have the suppressor on because the recoil reduction is that noticeable.

I got it home with enough daylight left to change the grip to a BCM Gunfighter, mount the red dot, and get a couple of mags through it. It’s really smooth but I can tell it would benefit from a good brake.

I have the black version with a MAMS. You’re going to love it. You really notice a difference when shooting fast. Ranges around here make you shoot slow, but when you get a chance to let it rip, you really notice it

Are you using this in a precision role? If so the MAMS will increase overall dispersion by an average of 0.25MOA

It's an awesome piece and I run it on two of my four KAC rifles due to the application purposes.

The KAC suppressors are also worth looking into.

Not really planning on using it for precision. I’ve got a red dot on it now but also have a Vortex 1-4 I may run on it occasionally.

I bought it at a gun show. The owner of SAW inc. died and his wife and I believe his son in law are selling off the inventory as private sales.

Nice pick up. The SR15 is a very refined AR and I think you'll really enjoy shooting. Keeping it Keymod or are you planning on swapping the rail for the URX4 MLOK?

I’ll shoot it as is for now. I’ve shot it every day this week after work. I’ve got the red dot and the back up sights zero’d and this thing is a shooter for sure.

looking into an Sr-15 myself. found one in burnt bronze mod 2 and also a used mod 1. Decisions, decisions.....

either way, ill swap out the FH/brake for a MAMS NT-4 mount and will run that on it. i think it would be pretty much perfect for anything i need to do.

KAC gets a bad rap because of the initial cost, but as soon as someone gives one a chance the story changes rather quickly. Every other AR I pick up there is something I feel compelled to change. Pick up a KAC and I’m content to leave it be. Good purchase. Just beware, you have opened a gateway to a money pit. No you just need an SR-25!

I agree and I’m sure eventually that will happen. I’ve never opposed a new rifle.

And my wife is so understanding. I told her I traded for it. I just didn’t tell her I traded twenty 100 dollar bills for it. ?

Wait ... you traded her for it ? ...

    Couldn't help myself. Lol

Fine firearm... we will expect a full report later.

    Good results for "M193"

    Congrats, very nice.

I know you have already changed your grip but if you decide to change again I thought I would share that I installed a VZ Grip on my SR-25 and like the angle and feel much better for what its worth.

Damn nice rifle man! I saw where they are selling the SR25 ACC in FDE now. But it ain't cheap. $4900.

I'd love to have a few SR15's but I built most of my stuff already. I did score several KAC lowers though and plan to top a few with KAC uppers here and there in the future.

Their triggers are pretty much on par with the old Geissele SSA but heavier duty. The only trigger worth swapping in it would be the Hi-Speed but I didn't bother. I only changed the grip with a MIAD, I agree, they ought to come with those. I may get a fixed stock since it wasn't an option and mine is 20". The MAMS brake, that thing WORKS! Wish I had one, may get one some day. They ain't cheap. Saw a video in slow motion of two fired side by side. The difference was truly amazing. The KAC cans are really nice too.

Welcome to the KAC club, you'll be a fanboy in no time at all now. They just make the best shit.

And you paid $2k for that? What a steal. The upper alone would go for that and Bronze isn't a normal color so there'd be a premium on that since it's factory. Wow. Wish I'd ran across that!

Congrats I've been looking at full size ar platforms lately as well

Yes, $2000.00 out the door. I’m trying to decide if I want to sell some AKs to buy an SR-25. I think I want a PC! I think I’d better hurry. With the political climate these days, the clock is ticking on new bans unfortunately.

To be honest the sr25 is really not worth it unless you must have it or want to build a clone. Having owned them and a scar17, the 17 beats it in almost every category and is $2k cheaper. A long rifle configured 6.5c is the only sr25 I would consider today.

    Excellent rifle.

My first AR15 was/is a KAC SR15 Mod1 carbine. I changed out the bird cage flash hider for a KAC TT (triple tap) compensator, put a BCM gunfighter charging handle, and I usually have a Magpul CTR stock on it. Can't ever seeing myself selling or replacing that rifle, it's got a permanent home. The wife even calls it the "bad bitch", haha.

I'd love to have one of their Mod 2 CQB rifles + KAC suppressor, but bank account can't justify it. I'll just have to settle for dreaming about it.

A clone of what? It's already one of the best rifles made. And how is a SCAR17 better than one of the best precision AR's made? Nah, nevermind. Now the Mk20 I've heard people say it's on par with the SR25 and is capable of subMOA groups as is the SR25.

The 6.5CM is a good choice, I won't knock that.

KAC porn: SR25w/PVS30, QDC can and LR17 scope. It's a bad motherfucker and everyone I know that has one swears by it.

but it aint the same! what i shouldve done was buy LMT lowers but i was too stingy and settled on aero AR15s and 308s..

I think it’s closer than pairing it with an LMT. I used to actually have an LMT, but it’s my uncle’s now. The SR-30 is just an SR-15 lower with an H2 buffer. I paired my SR-30 lower with a 14.5” SR-15 upper to make it a complete KAC rifle
