Which bipod do you prefer? </div></div>

I actually prefer the Atlas right now. It is a little more sturdy. The spigot design is a little different on the Atlas and doesn't disconnect as smooth as the AI. I still like the AI bi pod but right now I am digging the Atlas especially the way it pans and swivels.

I love the folded up 20"ers. I just picked up my ai aw folder with 20" fluted barrel yesterday and I'm similarly excited about it. Great rifles.

Just curious, is yours marked as imported by AINA fredricksburg va or AINA Mingus tx?

You probably have the twin to mine if it's black and marked Fredericksburg with a low 144XX serial 09/09 receiver/barrel build.

Mine is stamped Fredricksburg also. I have owned full customs and semi customs but this AI outdoes them all IMO. For a production rifle it has EVERYTHING I could ever want in a rifle. The trigger feels like it is 2.5-3lbs and it is a nice smooth pull and breaks clean.

Yes all on of those numbers.. Heh, I may have almost bought that rifle. Did you get it from SRT? Because I bought a black but they let me know a FDE (same exact config otherwise) was coming in the next week, so I waited for that one instead.

Re: My new AI AE MkII .308 all I can say is WOW!!

Yes, mine came by way of SRT. I wanted OD or FDE but didn't want to wait on a different rifle to float over the pond. Swapping skins would have been a nice gesture though, especially at the price of these things. Oh well. I kinda dig the black. It'll make a good base for paint.

how do you cope with the 3.3lb trigger break? i struggle with 2lbs when target shooting

Re: My new AI AE MkII .308 all I can say is WOW!!

Very nice, i've been looking at those a lot recently, my 223 rem700 is In that Stock (and GAP is building my 260 rem in one) One thing I've never been able to find, what is the muzzle thread pattern on the variants that have it.

AI thread is 18 x 1.5mm.

Thanks, I think I had found a surefire brake for the 338 that used that but I wasn't sure if the 308 used the same.

I'm quite used to it. I don't care for anything lighter than that.

Stryder - what's the difference in height between the two bipods with their legs in the shortest position?

Re: My new AI AE MkII .308 all I can say is WOW!!

Great rifle and setup. Where did you purchase it?somone mentioned SRT in a post but I'm not familiar with them.

The Atlas is shorter by about an inch. I like to get as low as I can and the Atlas definitely fits the bill, especially when you can adjust the legs out. The Atlas is just more versatile than the AI bi pod.

Thanks. That would be a noticeable difference in height. Most of the time with the Atlas I'm on the lowest extension. I'd like to try an AI bipod out of sheer curiosity but have no complaints with the Atlas.
