Rifle Scopes My new rifle need a hat

Hello all I am new hear. My name is Ken.I am a former marine and retired police officer. I just recently bought a remington 700 5r conture 24" barrel with 11.25 twist. I am looking for a scope that can get me good results at 1000 yard. U.s.Optics, night force, Valdada or Leupold. Would like 44mm lens. 50mm would be the highest. Zero stops, mil to mil and first focal plane. More the 14x but less then 26x. Any suggestion. Thanks

One to consider is the Premire Reticles 5-25X56 Heritage. I have two, one for each of my long range rifles. Became very comfortable with the Gen 2 XR reticle and really like the distinct "click's" on their elevation and windage knobs.

I have 5-25 S&B and 6-24 latest model IOR and for the money the IOR will be hard to beat. I'd look at new Steiners and Kahles as well but if on budget IOR has great glass and features for the $$

I would personally go with the NightForce F1, or Leupold Mark 4 ER/T. I have both and love them. Nightforce is my favorite however.

Find a good, used USO SN3 3.8-22 EREK, ERGO, mil/mil, with a suitable mil reticle like the GAP.

Sadly, USO recently discontinued the ERGO, but you might find one well worth the money still in stock (Midway, SWFA, or other dealer, maybe).

If I understood your post correctly, this may give you the objective size you want, the reticle & turret adjustments you want, FFP, good glass, a very well built and robust scope.

Ken, I am also new here. I would consider the vortex line of optics as well. Excellent optics and several FFP versions available in varying price ranges.

I'm saving my pennies for a Vortex Razor HD to sit atop my 5R. I think it's definitely worth a look.
