The 2A is safer now than it was when Reagan was in office, and the tide is still rolling our way. Gun ownership hits new records daily, it's consistently going up with new groups of people recognizing the importance of self defense, and the invasion of the illegals is only furthering that, not threatening it. Lefties are buying guns, independents are buying guns, and they want to keep them. We're now up to what, 29 states with Constitutional Carry? That's fucking huge in this fight for protecting our rights against government threat. The courts are trickling our way, far slower than any of us care for, but the momentum is still on our side. Save a handful of select socialist states, firearm ownership abilities have dramatically increased over the last 20 years since the expiration of the '94 AWB.
Constitutional change requires the ratification by 38 states. I can think of 13 states off the top of my head that will outlast three generations as holdouts against abolishment of the Second Amendment a whole lot easier than I can think of 13 states that would go headstrong into that battle. For every New York and California, there's a Wyoming and Oklahoma standing in their way. It's no surprise there have been no additions or deletions to the Constitution in several decades, and that Amendment took over 180 years to get through the ratification process. They can't even agree what time to set our clocks to, much less eliminate a piece of the Bill of Rights.
The political pendulum is always in motion. Left, right, left, right... As soon as things get level stupid in one direction for one half, it goes the other way for the other half.
