I recorded a video one time with it and now it keeps showing no signal even though I have the video in and out plugged into the unit and my dvr. I have had fuzzy snow with a he unit and hav had to nuk it several times to clear it and I have had it go black at Serrano powers when using the zoom.
Anyone else having these issues? Do I need to send it in? Does it need an update? Does my dvr need an update? Thanks

Not had the issues with my reap, but something similar to multiple nuc, and going black changing, on a mk1, they "reflashed"?? it, and all was good.
I'd call them and I'm sure they will say send it back.

Update: I sent the reap in. They were very helpful and sent me a ups shipping label. Now I am waiting up to 6 weeks for diagnostic trouble shooting. So far customer service has been good but I hate spending 7k plus on a unit and then being without a unit to hunt with for so long.

I've sent two thermals back to IRD/TEO customer support and yes, it seems like forever before you get it back.

There is a solution. Have more than one thermal !! :D

I thought one would be all I ever needed, but now I have six :)

Update. I have my reap ir back.

Your scope has had the core replaced from an antler to a Rev 1 core. There is no clip on option even though
the icon will appear. The board has been changed diopter set and focus adjusted. Please contact us if you
    need any further information.

I must say. Customer service was excellent!! I will sight it back in tomorrow if the rain lets up and maybe kill a few dogs Tuesday night.

Another update. I went to sight in the scope today and it will not give me anything but whit spots in a star pattern. So much for the new core and the down time. Needless to say I am not very happy right now?

That doesn't sound good. Change the batts? What brand of batts?

I've seen a "bad start up" I call it .. a few times ... very rare .. but an off/on always cleared it up.

Are these rechargables? Maybe wrong voltage?

(just grasping at straws hoping you don't have to send it back again :( )

They are not rechargeable. Brand new energizer cr123 that I always use.
Nothing would clear it up. I was hitting vacation in a week and planning on a lot of killen?

While I don't think batts are your problem, we have had issues with energizers b4 in a couple of reaps. I wont use them again. Energizer leaked in one of my lwts...
We've seen one reap do what u described, sent back, returned, and no problem. Like WW said, unusual with their CS.
U been on phone with them ??

Talked to customer service on lunch break. I have to send it back in? Supervisors are going to talk and call me back Monday to let me know what they are going to do for me. A loaner unit or something, no promises. I'm bummed.

Did you BEG as hard as you could ???

    Hard to believe ...

My guess is it worked when they shipped it ... since I can't believe they didn't test it at all ... but that something came loose in transit.

But given the situation ... I agree 5000% with above posts they should send you a new unit while yours is enroute back ...

    Can't understand why they won't.

I just remember how they treated me with/after my second upgrade.
1 - looked like they gave me a new unit all my scraps and scratches were gone.
2 - I asked some questions in email and they called me on the phone to asnwer.
Both of those exceeded my expectations.
Now I think this was still the IRD people (like I was dealing with Justine for my RMA, etc)
This was back in January/February 2018. Maybe they had personnel or policy changes since then.

I asked them to send me a new unit he said he did not have the authorization to do so and the supervisors would have to talk about it and get back to me Monday

Well, so there is still a slim chance .. if the "supervisors" make the right call. But shipping next week might be messy. So they will have a challenge on that front.

IRD Marketing said all the IRD (now Trijicon) scopes were clipons ... but that is such a stretch ... I'd call it bovine scatology.

The SNIPE, is a clipon. Otherwise, none of them are.

    This is why:

01 - All the scopes in question (except the SNIPE) have PVS-14 rear lens housings. The PVS-14 housing cannot support any magnification level other than exact 1x. In my book a clipon should be able to support at least 2x, if a 320/336/384 or at least 4x if a 640. But no optic with a PVS-14 rear housing can support any magnification other than 1x. That's the laws of physics as they apply to that lens system.

02 - None of the scopes (except the SNIPE) have a collimating rear lens (the PVS-14 housing is not a collimating lens). In my book, the definition of a clipon is a NOD that has a collimating lens on the rear ... risley prisims collimated on a collimating table and able to optically center the image seen from the real world, passed by the core to the rear of the thermal display to the rear lens housing and over to the day scope. That means if the day scope optical center is 0.2 inches higher and lower than the optical center of the of the thermal then the collimated risley's prisms will handle it. On my "real" clipons, the KAC PVS-30 and the BAE UTC-x ... you slap the clipon on the rifle and shoot and you are dead on out to 900yds (as far as we shoot at night). No adjustments needed or even possible. With the Trijicons there are adjustments possible, but because there is no collimating lens, we should expect to have to use these adjustments features for every rifle. With the PVS-30 and UTC-x there are no adjustments. BTW, the SNIPE does have risley prism rear end.

So, I rest my case. The Trijicon scopes are billed as having clipon capability, but IMHO that is so marginally the case, that I would say it is equivalent to not the case.

    :)

That said, from reading above dogsniper words, it sounds like his 'very limited" clipon capability is not present in his current scope. Not sure if that is on purpose or otherwise. But his current scope is non-functional, so we have to wait and see what his next functional one can do.

Update. Just got my scope on. Went to sight it in for killen tonight. Kept giving me fuzzie twice and I had to turn the unit off and on again. This is the second time I have received the scope back from repair. After re booting it twice I was able to get it sighted in. I'll see if I have any issues with it tonight

Not at all what I wanted to hear. I'm 12 months into my ownership of a Reap, and currently have a dead pixel or two that NUC'ing won't fix. It's not in the center view, but it bothers the crap out of me. I was thinking it would be easy enough to send it in and have Trijicon clean it up. The unit has plenty of warranty left, but now I'm considering just living with it unless there I get a few more.

@Dogsniper What did they do to fix the thermal on the second go around? Did they swap parts out again?

I believe a new core, re purge, and re focus. Like I said I will use it all night tonight and report back. I will say the costumer service has been great. No questions asked gave me shipping labels and have been great to work with even though I have had some hick ups with the unit. I sent them a video of what I had going on they sent me a shipping label right away but I'm going to use it and see what happens if it cleared up on its own if I were you I would not hesitate to send it in .

Ok another updat. Trigicon replaced all of the guys and core in my thermal again. I have been hunting with it and have had no more screen fuz issues. I can still not get it to link to my dvr. I believe it is the cord or the dvr as I had the tech working on it email me personally and I talked to him about that problem. I had to send it back 3 times but customer service was always polite and helpful. Even had the head manager call me and talk to me.
So customer service is an a plus and if I was going to buy another thermal today it would be another reap ir ?

    Happy killen!!!
