N570 vs rl 33

N570 is more temp stable. Good luck finding it though. I use RL33 in my 28 because N570 is unobtanium. RL33 gives great velocity (I am over 3100 with Berger 195s) and great accuracy, so it is a worthy replacement as long as you don't load to absolute max pressure and are cognizant of the temperature. Keeping ammo out of the sun also helps.

Haven’t done extensive testing yet, but playing with both in a 300 norma. 33 is quite a bit slower burning than 570. So far I’m getting much better velocities with 33, and it has been very consistent day to day(speed and accuracy). It also meters better than 570, and is far cheaper. Sorry don’t have more specific data. I’ve been posting a lot about Reloder powders lately. I’ve no connection to them, the powders have just been doing really well!

I've tried Retumbo with 195s. It ran about 100fps slower than RL33 at the point where both powders were showing equal pressure signs. Accuracy was also not as good as RL33. It is more temp stabke though if that is your top priority. RL33 has excellent case fill characteristics in the 28 with 195s, which might contribute to the accuracy. YMMV.

Which projectile are you using with the 28 Nosler?

A lot of guys are using RE-33 with the 230 gr. Bergers in the 300 Norma Magnum and having great success. However, if you are going the lighter Warner Flatline route in the 300 Norma Magnum then N570 seems to be the perfect powder.

Unfortunately, N570 is very hard to find. I had an order in to Powder Valley that wasn't filled after 8 months. Turns out they sold out 2 weeks before I placed my order and haven't had a shipment since. No one else has either apparently since Graf's, Natchez, Midsouth, Cabelas, and everyone else seem to be out as well. Luckily, a local shop had some and I picked up a few pounds but paid too much for it.
