Been a slow year for woodchucks until the last few days . Saw 3 today didn’t shoot them as I was cutting firewood and will go back tomorrow with my son who’s looking for his first ever kill with his .22
These were from yesterday. All daily closes shots as I’ve been using the .17 and enjoy getting close .

Have - actually a lot like pork, guess they are a distant genetic cousin to pigs .
I shoot them because of the crop and garden damage they do and the damage their holes do to tractors /equipment. But main reason I shoot them now - foxes tend to move in to old woodchuck holes to have their kits . And a family of fox eat 1-2 chickens a day .
