Overview:
This course is designed to develop a solid foundation of shooting skills with a semi-auto carbine rifle. The student will exercise these skills in a variety of shooting situations. The student will quickly gain experience, confidence and increase their skill level with the carbine in use in self defense / competition situations. The following topics will be discussed in depth during the course:
• Safety
• Fundamentals of shooting
• Proper 300yd ZERO
• Malfunctions clearing
• Speed shooting controlled pair and single round
• Failure to neutralize
• Multiple targets
• Shooting positions: Prone, sitting, kneeling, standing (ready up drills and reflex)
• Shooting on the move
• Shooting behind cover

Ammunition Requirements: 700 rounds of carbine ammunition
Optional ammunition: (500rnds 22lr and 200rnds center fire)
Gear List: Belt, wraparound eye protection, ear protection, water bottle and rain gear, one carbine rifle, three carbine magazines, a magazine holder for your carbine magazines, 2 point sling ONLY, five snap caps, rain gear, water bottle, weapons cleaning kit.
Optional gear list: 22lr conversion for the Ar-15 rifle or stand alone Ar-15 22lr rifle setup like the center fire rifle, and snap caps in 22lr.
Side notes: We are working with ammunition manufacturers at this time to offer a group buy for the .223 / 5.56 for the whole class. When you sign up for the class I will send e-mails out on the price of the ammunition and you will have the option to order it, or your own ammunition.
22lr Conversions are the smartest way to attend this class for cost only. If you have a conversion thats great, if not we want to point you to the following options:
CDNN SS CMMG Conversions for $155 shipped right handed uppers
Stag Arms SS Conversions for $220 + shipping left handed uppers
If you have a dedicated 22lr rifle that is setup the same way as your center fire that's ok too. BUT if you have a red-dot on the center fire, we want you to have a red-dot on the 22lr rifle as well. Same setup guys. Or you cannot use it in the class and you will have to shoot center fire the whole time. Just be prepared to clear a lot of jams and issues with the Ar-15 22lr conversion kits
