COF#1 - Positional and No rear support till 800.

Well it looks like we set a new club record for attendance at a LR match with 59 shooters today! We had over 100 shooters on the line this past weekend with over 40 + shooters at Saturdays practice.

Once again, the "The Animal" takes home 1st place with an impressive 420 3x. Things are so tight these days if you blow your CBS, you can forget about seeing the top 10.

Conditions were constant on first relay, but a lil more switchy by 2nd relay. I was holding .4 to 1.2 @ 1K between shots and strings.

Re: NCPPRC Feb LR Match Results

Basic breakdown for COF#1, round count of 50 - don't have the pdf handy, but have my scoresheet in my pocket..;) This isn't exact, but will give an idea. All are under some sort of time pressure - I only got one of four shots off at 425 to clearing a feeding issue for example.

Stage 1: 200 yds cold bore
Stage 2: 200Yd Transition - 2 shots standing, kneeling, prone in 90 sec
Stage 3: 300Yd Sitting - 3 rounds
Stage 4: 300Yd Sitting - 3 rounds in 3 minutes - targets come up at random for a total of three 6 second exposures
Stage 5: 300 Yd Prone from backside of slope/berm - 3 rounds
Stage 6: 425 Yd shot from offside, off a barricade about 2' tall - 4 rounds (50 seconds?)
Stage 7: 500 Yd Prone on a (10"?) bull - 4 rounds
Stage 8: 600 Yd Prone - 3 rounds, first round spotted
Stage 9: 800 Yd Prone - 3 rounds, ""
Stage 10: 900 Yd Prone - 2 strings of 3 rounds. First round of first string spotted
Stage 11: 1k Prone - 4 strings of 3, first round of first string spotted.

Re: NCPPRC Feb LR Match Results

This is our most difficult COF, but also our most popular as it tests the shooter more than the equipment. Get guys off their bellies, take away their rear bag and it really shows up in the scores.

2011 Long Range Tactical Rifle Match Course of Fire #1
HARD CORE COMPETITORS COF
No rear bags or artificial rear support shall be used from 200 to 600 yards. Slings and shooting gloves are OK. - Rear support is permitted only at 800, 900, 1000 yards, and on the Barricades. Except for the CBS, all scoring is actual ring value, including head shots.
During prep time magazines may be loaded but chambers must remain empty. When there are multiple strings of fire at each distance the prep time between strings of fire commences when the targets go down to be cleaned. When all targets are brought back to half mast competitors should be prepared to chamber and fire. Once targets are at half mast they can go up at any time.
The command to begin the prep time will be given once ALL competitors have returned to their firing points after the COF has been read at each firing line.

Re: NCPPRC Feb LR Match Results

Nice job fellas. I need to send Vu our better hostage target, that one is circa 2004... Mark

Re: NCPPRC Feb LR Match Results

F that Mark...that CBS has cost me more points than any other CB target.

I started out down 60pts this last sunday. LMAO.

Its sucks to see 3/4 of your bullet hole, knowing where the other 1/4 of the hole is......

Re: NCPPRC Feb LR Match Results

I hear ya, I would be better off sometimes not shooting hostage targets at all....

'cept when you find that you missed that 40 point cold bore shot and you are 36 points behind the first place finisher at the end of the day

Re: NCPPRC Feb LR Match Results

I had a great time and can't wait for next month. I missed the Hostage Target by a Bullet dia.
At least I didn't lose 20 points.

I was worried about the Standing, Kneeling, and Prone. I had bought Chuck N. I.O.T.A. and practiced the shit out of it and shot 9's for the 6 shots.

The weakside Head shots at 425 was fun also. I ran out of time and couldn't get the fourth shot off.

I didn't place well but I don't think I did that bad for not having solid dope for down there.

Doyal

Re: NCPPRC Feb LR Match Results

You guys need to make folks ditch the mitts!

I do like the COF, as far as unsupported prone being elbow and torso on the ground, and your seated unsupported rules. Mimics what I think of when I think of those positions.....

Timed exposure sitting?!?!?!? You're an asshole when you're drunk Superman!!

See you kids soon!

-to this day my 500/600 timed exposure headshots from '09 TBRC are my best groups at distance!!
