Fieldcraft Neat little binocular trick

While fiddling with my binos earlier today, I realized that you could use the prisms to see over objects without exposing yourself.

See the prism layout?

If we prop the lens up like this and use it as a monocular...

We can easily see what's on the other side without sticking our head out.

Keep it simple, stupid.
Often it is the simple things that can help out the most.

I would submit if you move back from the window 3 - 5 feet it wouldn't matter. Of course it also helps to turn the light behind you off.

Being a couple feet back from the window is a good idea, and putting a couple fingers in front of the lens helps to hide the lens too.
