I got my first chance to step out to 1,000 yards this weekend. However, I don't have anything prepared. This is what I have at my disposal:

168 gr Barnes Triple Shock X boattails
Varget/H335/IMR4046
CCI large rifle primers
Nosler/Winchester/Remington brass

The rifle is a 700SPS Tactical with a Nikon Monarch 4-16x42

By my guesstimation, I'm gonna need 2650-2700 fps. However, the 3 powders I have yield very different chamber pressures (at max load according to hodgdon.com). The 4064 at 2766 fps generates 58,800 psi. The Varget at 2,731 fps generates 50,600. And the H335 at 2,631fps generates 49,300 psi.

The 335 is most likely out. It's going to be between the 4064 and the Varget but I'm not sure which is best and what kinda load I should use.

The BC on the Barnes is to low get some 175gr MatchProjectiles and load them with Varget and you will be good to go the 168's are also not to the task in the 308 or you could buy 155gr Palma projectiles from Sierra, Hornady, Norma, Berger or Lapua they will get you there but the Barnes is not designed for long range target shooting.

Stay with the IMR 4064 but get some 175/178s and get them in the 2600 Range.

Skip the H335. It changes quite a bit with the temperature. Your other 2 powders are good choices. You'd definately be better off with a match type bullet designed for long range shooting.

You would need to get some altitude for the 168 gr to make it to 1000yds on a regular basis, the 175 are much better at staying supersonic to 1000, try varget, it is clean an not temperature sensitive. 44 gr work really well for me with the 175 in a 25 inch kreiger 1-12.

Head for the hills!

Really, switch to 175SMK's. I used to kid myself that I'd be OK shooting 168's at 1K. Its doable, and I did OK until I hot a match where the DA dropped to about -1500 when we hit the 1K line.
Not fun when your bullets hit a target frame away.......sideways.
175's are all I load for 308 now.

+1 for 175's. I don't see anybody using 168's past 300-400yds with very good accuracy. The 155's work good too but 175's are what I prefer and most guys do too

The 168 offerings out there (smk, Nosler CC, Amax) can and will shoot GREAT within 800, but why fall in love with something that will let you down big time if you get the chance to go long, when 175's will run the distance and do well all the way out?
