I have a 20" Faxon Big Gunner barrel (35.84oz) in .308 that's so far is producing 3"- 4" groups with 3 different factory loads. My previous shorter, but heavier Wilson Combat gave me <1.5" groups with 4 different factory loads.
Is there such a thing as an accurate, but not too heavy barrel? How light can I go w/o sacrificing accuracy?
This will be used as a hunting and occasional target rig.
I was leaning towards Criterion 18.5" Hybrid Match, but noticed a lot of negative posts. Give Wilson Combat Tactical Hunter (38.4oz) or Super Sniper (47.5oz) 18" a try? (50.7oz for the 20" Super Sniper--too heavy for a hunting rig?)

Why not get another Wilson? If weight is your concern they have lighter weight fluted barrels.

I’m happy with the performance of my 16” Criterion. I’d buy another.

I have a Wilson Combat Recon (16”, intermediate gas, 28oz) that is around MOA or less with M118LR.
