Need gun ID’d

Thinking it’s maybe from the 1930’s or 40’s. Was my FIL’s first gun as a child (he was born in 1940).

Single-shot .22 Short. Funky two-piece bolt, even more funky extractor.

Zero discernable markings anywhere. Still shoots.

Remington model 6 rolling block made until the 1930’s…. I have one as well with flip up peep sight.

Doesn't the remington model 6 have a reciver cutout on the right side?

It looks closer to a stevens but it doesnt have the lever for opening.
