I need to know how much it would cost to have a new barrel put on. I have a Weatherby Mark V long action. I want to put a 8 rem mag barrel on it or a 338 Rum.

Barrel of quality...$300. Truing...$300. Fitting...$300. Refinishing...$200.(Depends if you want action and barrel to match). May be more. Shipping and insurance...there and back) $100. You can do it for $500. You may not be happy with the result. Cheap prefit McGowan or other low end barrel...screw it in...headspace with a hand held reamer, send it back. Don't complain about the results. JMHO
