Gunsmithing Need help, changing uppers 6.5 to .308

I need guidance someone that knows. I have a Dpms 6.5 creedmoore, but I would like to change the upper to a DPMS LR308 to shot that caliber. Is this possible or I could cause problems to my lower receiver or worst to my face? I would acccept any advice or knowledge, thank you.

Assuming you already have both uppers...

Just push out the pins, change the upper, and push in the pins.

That simple.

Assuming a 308 mag will work in your lower - I'd follow the instruction given above

Thank you guys, but would it be any difference in accuracy, Or gas presure for the buffer spring? This question would sound stupid to some of you, but I rather know than to feel that I could damage the rifle or my self.
