Let me start by saying I do not currently reload.
That said, my job is being transferred to New Zealand. I can bring along my rifle, and would really like to learn to reload (on my list of to do's anyway). However, EVERYTHING to do with shooting is 2-4x more expensive in NZ. (Basic Remington 700 selling for $1600+, reloading tools that sell here for $250 selling for $999 in NZ)
I would like to purchase a reloading kit before I go.
Here's what I'm looking for.
Quality set-up, but doesn't have to be top of the line. Budget is a concern.
Able to reload consistent, reliable rounds in .308 caliber.
All the basics. Don't need every fancy tool on the market.
Any suggestions, tips or other information is immensely appreciated.
Edit: Considering the Hornaday Lock and Load kit. What else would I need?
