I have a remington sps in .308 it has a timmney trigger set @ 1 lbs and it is in a aics 1.5. At 400 yard I can shot a 5 shot group 1.25" however, at 600 it spreads out to 5-6 inches. Conditions were perfect no wind low humidity and clear. what do I need to do? Oh yeah the load 168 gr sierra 42gr n150 in lapua brass. Any and all help would be great.

Thanks

Re: Need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spreads out how?

Can you scan in a target or two so we can see the group at 400 and then at 600?

Depending on where your rounds are migrating, there are a few things to suggest.

One of the first very general things that comes to mind would be your scope. Visibility is a factor when you go up in range like that.

Start shooting the 175's @ 2.800" and try 41.0 to 42.5 grains of H4895 with CCIBR2's in Lapua Brass. I never had much luck with the 168's past 300 yards but the 175's sure did help.

Nice group at 400 yards. Things change and in a hurry when you get past 400 yards.
