Hey I bought a remington 700 3006 long range heavy barrel used. I mounted a Burris M tac 10 power in Leopold rings. It will not hit the broad side of a barn. I caint get the rifle to zero at all. Any ideas on what it could be. I don't think the barrel is shot out it's clean with clear groves and doesn't look as though it has been used much when I purchased it

Dd you start at 25 yards? You could point your rifle at the 25 y target. Remove the bolt and look down the barrel and if the scope/barrel is pointed at the target you should be able to get a starting point.

If you got it on paper at 25 but it's all over the first thing I would do is remove the optic and base. Start over on mounting it and use a different scope this time.

If it prints, put the old scope back on it and see what happens.

Lots of variables and you just have to start by eliminating each one. More times than not it's the optic or mounting of such when it is that sporadic.

That sounds unusual, not that it is impossible to get a bad barrel from Remington. I have one of their .30-06 long range rifles and it shoots pretty good. Not 1/2 moa yet since I've only shot factory ammo out of it, but not flinging them everywhere either. First thing I would be looking at would be the scope, mounts, action to stock fit, etc. Eliminate all f those items and then take it to someone to get it scoped and or indicated.

What ammo/load were you using?

Factory federal gold medal ammo 168 gn and i have tried the federal 150 gn fusion ammo. I talked with turtlesniper from here and he is going I help me out. But thanks for all ur responses
