Need Hornady head space comparator info.

Making a custom headspace comparator insert but forgot to bring one along.
I need the outside diameter of the comparator insert where it steps down, the end that slides into the holder.

Mine is 0.156" for that last c.-halfinch.. Just for verification, the bulk of the shaft is about 0.207" across the flats.

Something else...why the fuck is it that the offset with these things is 2.005"? Why the fuck wouldn't you make them an even number so you didn't need to rezero the caliper everytime?
