I wouldn't mind fireforming but I have limited range time this fall and would like to be able to start developing loads ASAP. Thanks for the link I'm on hold with them right now to hopefully snag both of their 50 rounds in stock. Karma your way friend...
SHIT!
literally 4 minutes ago I was gonna do the online order and had added both of the 50 rounders to my checkout cart, but then went back to their home page and decided to call with my order... was on hold a few minutes then get a "leave a voicemail after the tone!" message. Screw that I'll just go ahead with the online order and now they are NOT available anymore... Talk about your all time backfires...
Fireforming is easy to do with about 12gr of Blue Dot (or similarly fast pistol powder) and a case full of cream of wheat. Annealing the neck/shoulder before you start helps a lot.
Your barrel doesn't take 250 rounds of wear either.
+1 on the cream o wheat method, as an aside you can also get some low cost trigger time in. The only things missing are the recoil, the full bore report and holes in the target.
