Hey optics experts, I need a little help on my new Konus M30 1.5 - 6 x 44 scope.

The specs for the scope claim 1/2 MOA clicks in both everything I've found online and physically etched onto the body of the scope. I ran the knobs through their range of motion to free them up (they were a little stiff but have loosened nicely), and discovered that there are 8 clicks per major division; there are 6 total per rotation. Windage has 71 clicks left and 72 clicks right, so it was centered. Claimed available windage and elevation adjustment is 36" @ 100 yards.

This is where it gets... confusing.

The available elevation isn't 143 clicks - it's 284! There are eight clicks between major divisions (there are 6 of these per rotation), and the scope body is marked (just like the windage) "1 click = 1/2 MOA."

Do manufacturers make different click values for elevation vs. windage? Why?

Do you guys think my scope was assembled with the turret components from the other line of scopes?

I guess the only way to test this is to shoot a box test and see what happens.

Your input is needed!

OK, box test shot here.

From center zeroed, 8 clicks up and 8 clicks right places bullet impacts dead on the upper right target four inches up and right of center target. 16 clicks left brings you to upper left target. 16 down brings you to lower left target. 16 right; lower right target. 8 up and left brings you right back onto center mass.

Interesting.
