Ok... here is the story...

After taking a couples years off from long range shooting (due to a ex-bitch that couldnt keep her pants up for others)... I am BACK...

I have a Mod 70 .308 HEAVY coming in... here is what it has:

Barrell is factory... but is a HELL of a shooter... Threaded for my .308 can

Stock is factory... much like the PSS stocks.

I will bed it when it gets here...

Rings are US OPTICS Med. 30MM and are NEW
Base - 20 MOA US OPTICS.

Soon a swivel harris/podlock bipod and a mono pod

Ok... well this will be my rig... some things will change over time... like the stock... but the everything else has less than 300 rounds on it...

Scope... well... IT CANT BREAK THE BANK.... but does not need to be a WalMart special either...

I am leaning towards a $700 -800 value...

Thinking of a:
Nikon Tactical... the older one...that was 4 x 16 x 50mm MILDOT.

What do you all say..... I need it for good shots to 1K.

Thanks,
Matt (LEO SOUTH GA.)

Re: Need Some Scope Opinions...

Well I have a Zeiss 4.5-14x44 MD on my tactical but it's 1" and you already are set up with 30mm rings. This will get a lot of flack but I have a Burris Black Diamond 6-24x50 on my 1000 yard and it's actually worked very well so far that I've not wanted to change it. Either of these are in your range but with the Zeiss you would also be paying for new rings. I've seen some good stuff about the Bushnell 6500 which is in your range and some people will be promoting the Super Sniper although the 2 that I had didn't live up to their billing.

Re: Need Some Scope Opinions...

I had a Super Sniper.... actually a few of them... Just did like the fixed 10 power... and now it seems the prices have gotten a tad higher on their new ones...

I will check the Bushnell 6500.

Thanks for the info.
