Gunsmithing Need some 'smith advice on an AR problem.

I was putting a new grip (tangodown battlegrip) on my Colt 6920 when after I removed the grip screw, a small spring fell out along with a small gold colored pin, then my safety went kind of limp. How does this stuff go back together? thanks

put the pin in the hole followed by the spring, then the grip, being careful not to pinch the spring.

I figured it out, before I checked back on here, after I seen the small hole in the grip. I thought DUH!! Thanks anyway

I pulled a used AR apart the other day and someone used a piece of wood in place to make up a short spring..

AHHHH... Those small springs... At least it wasn't one that shoots across the room and ends up in some black hole to oblivian...
