I was giving an old mil surprise rifle that I believe to be a turkish mauser but cant be sure looking for info from people who know more about these rifles than I do. What's throwing me is it has what seems to be a movable dust cover over the ejection port but it doesnt completely cover it.

Good news the Siamese Mauser is considered the strongest of the Mauser actions and it is perfect for building a custom rifle.
It's also in original and therefore collectible condition. I always thought there would be Mausers around to convert. Then one day they dried up. And, prices shot through the roof.

I would say to find another usable action and build a custom off of that. Keep the Siamese as-is and take care of it. It may never be top dollar, but it will remain collectible and increase in price. Or, a nice heirloom to hand down to the next generations.
