new ,308 ???

Re: new ,308 ???

Go with the one you like the best. They are both solid guns and I don't think you would be disappointed with either. To me the immediate advantage of the Savage is that you can easily do a barrel swap if you want to shoot another short action caliber. I don't think you give up anything in terms of accuracy, etc.

Enjoy which ever one you decide on.

Re: new ,308 ???

Both should be good. It comes down to just personal preference. However, with the Remy action, you will have more after market accesories for pimping it up a bit.

The 110 is a long action but can be used for a short action build. For a long time Savage only made long action recievers and used them for .308, .223 etc in addition to the long action calibers. The Savage is like a Lego set for big boys, the end user can do alot with a barrel nut wrench and a headspace gauge.

eta: I just re read the OP and it would be a model 10 FCP-HS (a damn fine choice according to everyone that has reviewed one), YMMV.

Re: new ,308 ???

I did think he might be referring to the 10 FCP-HS, but I apreciate the info on the LA. Building a .308 on a LA would basically give you unlimited possibilities down the road as far as changing calibers.
That's good to know.
