so i am in the market for a custom built 375 cheytac. here is what i am thinking.
Lawton 8500 left handed stainless steel repeater action.
Lawton lost river bore 1-11 twist barrel 30" long
ABS carbon fiber barrel wrap
Manners T4a stock
Lawton 40 MOA base
Timney tactical straight trigger
Baer detachable bottom metal with 7 round magazine
a muzzle brake
Nightforce 8-32x56 scope
so the question is.... who do i get to build it...am i missing anything....suggestions....comments....criticisms
it's a lot of money and im just making sure im on the right track.

Just have Lawton do the build.

was thinking 8-32 because of the greater magnification....how much up does the 32x have and how much up does the 22x have? is there a 60 MOA base i could get? i plan to zero the rifle at 500 yards.

Re: NEW 375 CHEYTAC BUILD

I am currently using a 8-32 nightforce with a 40 moa base...I cant get down to a 100 yard zero but have been shooting it up to 1400 yards out. I do have a 5-25 Premier on order for it though..

Re: NEW 375 CHEYTAC BUILD

If you go the US Optics route, the option for a larger diameter tube will give you more travel. I've got a 338 Snipetac in the mill at Lawton with the receiver I got in the recent group buy. Going to put a 35mm USO on it when it gets in.

Lawton is the ticket.

Re: NEW 375 CHEYTAC BUILD

This is going off memory.I think it's 65MOA for the 8-32 and 100MOA for the 5.5-22x.Not sure.

I zero my 375CT at 300 yards with the 40 minute base and have enough elevation for 2500 yards with possibly enough for 3000 yards.

Re: NEW 375 CHEYTAC BUILD

With a 40MOA base you can get real close to a 100 yard zero using the 8-32. (probably within 4 MOA of a 100 yard zero) If your planning on zeroing at 500 I think your okay. I use the 8-32 on my 338 Allen Magnum (338-408 Improved) and I can get to a mile with no sweat...I know I have at least 20 MOA when dialed in at 1760 and I only have a 20MOA base.

i have private property to 1300 yards that i can shoot, and i am working on some that is 1900+.

also you may try the 5.5x22x56 for the elevation and then a rear magnifier for any additional magnification you may desire. </div></div>

What are these worth ? are they any good ? Sounds like the best of both worlds, elevation and Magnification !

Re: NEW 375 CHEYTAC BUILD

Have Lawton build it....
Go single shot action. no need for DBM with that size round. If you cant hit it or defeat it with one round out of that beast then you need to choose a different build. I wanted dbm on mine but Bobby convinced me. its not a tactical rifle, its a extreme long range precision rifle. by the time your shot gets out to 2500 or whatever distance your hitting and you happen to miss, you can get a new round in by the time the first round hits target. just a thought....

single shot action will save you some money.
