I am in the process of gathering parts for a new SR-25 type upper. (I know this isn't an ar-10. It just made for a catchier title)
I am planning on using a JD machine receiver. As I stated in an earlier post, I am not using an Iron Ridge upper b/c I think I want a forward assist.

Other parts that I have in mind-
rock creek barrel- 18-20"
JP V-Tac handguard
JP Bolt carrier group- Should I go with low mass or normal?
DPMS barrel ext
JP adj gas block

What do you think? Any and all ideas an suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,
Christopher

What do you want to do with it?

I would think if you had your fundamentals right, the low-mass carrier group would be unnecessary.

Are you going to suppress it? If not I wouldn't think the adj. gas block would be necessary.

This is all my opinion I haven't built one yet, but I'm hoping to be in the market soon.

You're probably right about the low mass carrier. I have heard though, that to get the best accuracy out of a gas gun, it is helps to be able to adjust the gas. I wasn't 100% clear as to why.
