Ok been saving up for a new barrel. I just don't know what brand I want. Or twist rate, or SS vs CM, or contour. I mostly shoot 168-175 from 300-800. I do want it to be 22-26 length.

1/10 or 1/11.25 will be very versatile. The medium Palma and Remington Varmint.Sendero are good all around contours. If your not carrying it then the M24 or even MTU/AMU contours have their appeal.
Go to bugholes and see whats in stock. Bartlein, Krieger, Brux..they're all good

22" length is about perfect length for a 308 IMO.

The best twist for 168-175s is 11.25, but there would be nothing wrong with using a 10 if that was all that's in stock. A 12 twist would probably work too up to 175s, but you probably wouldn't be able to go any heavier, and that twist works best if you are shooting 155s.

Stainless barrels typically provide better accuracy than CM.

I like either the rem varmint or medium palma contours, and will not go any lighter than these. They provide a good tradeoff between enough thickness for sustained courses of fire and keeping the rifle's weight manageable. M24/M40 and MTU are good for lengthy firing sessions, but would make the rifle's weight exceed 16 pounds.

Bartlein, Brux, Broughton, Krieger, Rock Creek, Hart, Obermeyer are all good. I have Bartlein, Brux, and Krieger barrels on my rifles; can't really tell them apart.

I don't have a problem with weight I'm used to a 240b and a m4. But this gun is primarily a FTR gun and fun shooting. I get .3 Moa w my AR-15 but with my R700 I can't get better than .6 Moa. I shoot in all positions standing kneeling prone and anything you can think of. But the barrel and my loads can't get better than .6 Moa and that is good, but I want great.
