My friend doesn’t make them, he just works in the firearms industry and found out about them. It’s basically like a Harris on steroids. Quick-detach, beefier legs, springloaded like a Harris, cant and panning abilities. Check out the video. And as far as I know, it’s made in the U.S. now the downside is, it isn’t cheap. I think it’s $265 or so for the whole setup or $189 for the Harris upgrade kit. I’m hoping that goes down a bit. Seems like an awesome improvement over the Harris but that’s a pretty hefty price tag even tho most of us have paid it before with bipodsnlike the Atlas and countless others.
Looks like the only Alamo piece is the SARG unless I'm missing something with Alamo making the part that can rotate/cant. They do mention its a SARG knob, so at least they're not ripping it off.
I like the idea, but I don't like it enough to pay $190 for it.
I wonder if, when you pan sideways and take a shot, if it will cause your follow through to be off. introducing an angle through recoil, and such. the idea is cool but as far as accuracy, idk how it will be due to recoil not coming straight back.
I have a Larue Harris QD, two Atlas, and finally found what I needed. Ironically, $98 on Amazon, TipTop bipod. Pan and tilt, QD mount, rear lever, 0.5" legs vs Harris 0.342", just a great bipod. Wish I had bought is $800 ago.
I just got one of those too and while I much prefer Atlas (what rides on my main rifle) I bought the TipTop to go on a rifle I don't want to spend too much on just yet.
So far I'm impressed with its construction and all the features that you mention, most of which must be added on to a Harris
I have two Atlas PSR with ADM QD, reg and a tall. Both have tension knobs that come loose all the time. Thats the only reason I tried the TipTop, which works great. Otherwise, I liked the Atlas.
I think about this all the time when shooting off my Atlas... especially if you apply some preload to the bipod while it is panned to an angle, i would think that it would affect the recoil path and follow through.

If you just angle the rifle (doing it wrong), you'll more than likely have an off call shot from not being straight behind the rifle.
If you pivot your entire body around the bipod when you pan (doing it right), no.
ZRODelta bought out Alamo 4 Star last year, I have been using the DLOC-SS all year. it has made shooting the mover stage a breeze.
ZRODelta is manufacturing all of the Alamo Four Star products from Lubbock TX. Still the same high quality but they've increased production capability when ZRODelta took over manufacturing. Look for some new stuff coming out around shot show.
