Here’s the rundown.

7 SAUM, built on a rem 700 short mag action. Action and bolt worked and Bartlein #9 contour barrel, 8 twist finished at 28”. (Barreled action done by Alamo Precision Rifles) its sitting in a XLR Element chassis. Trigger tech special trigger. Seekins Precision base and rings. Vortex Viper PST Gen 2, 5-25x50. SilencerCo Break and shooting through SiCo Omega can. Atlas Bipod.

Shooting Hornady 180 grain ELD-Match out of Norma brass. Working up load still but so far it’s shooting sub .25 MOA with only 30 rounds down the tube. I finished putting it together Friday evening. Was at the range Saturday morning. Took 6 shots to get zeroed. Started shooting 5 round groups, I had 6, 5 shot strings loaded in 1/2 grain steps. The hotter the load the tighter the group. No sign of pressure so far, so next trip will continue to step up till I hit pressure sign or accuracy backs off. What I can say for sure is it is a sub 1/4 MOA build.
Shooting in 12-15 mph winds didn’t help things. So next trip I will actually wait for some decent conditions. But you know how it is when you have been waiting for a build to be completed. Your Ancy. LOL.

That’s a beauty. I bet you spent top $ on her.

Kinda, I’ve been piecing it together for about 4 years. I had a Remington 700 AAC-SD 308 that I put the trigger, chassis and all of that on. So yeah, I spent a decent amount but I’ve been deal shopping for years so not too much at one time and some good deals. It helped doing it that way, lots of trigger time behind the 308 getting skills honed for a good build.

I've got my money on H1000 being faster than H4831sc. Especially with your barrel length to give it full burn. If you're really looking for more velocity, try RL26.

My gut feeling is that the H1000 will be faster and a little easier on the barrel. I shot some more today, I broke the barrier I was hoping to break speed wise so I think I’ll be sticking with the H1000. I got 2945 with SD of 6.

Those are 300 yard groups? Damn!

Yep. At 100 they are all small ragged holes. Best group so far was 0.17' @ 100. Most are right around .25 when I do my part. Today I was getting frustrated because I kept pulling one in each group off. A few of the groups would have been close to 0.45" @ 300 but I would pull one out of the rest and end up .7 or .8" which I'm not really complaining about but he rifle shoots far better than I do.

Holy smokes that’s crazy accurate you must be tickled with performance like that. ?

I am, I went back and forth between a few different rounds. Glad I finally decided on the SAUM. Lots of people were talking it down in a short action but I have found that the added barrel length makes it preform very well. Its just stupid accurate.

If it is, it is just barely. I can feel no crunch at all and no push back. But here was one time I’m pretty sure I felt it crunch a little. But that was in virgin brass. So next loading might change a tad on that.

Also. No pressure signs at all. Primers look perfect. No hevy handle. No extractor marks. Primers all had tension when depriming before I tumbled them. I’ll keep updated on how next cycle goes.

I cut it close on barrel. I really wanted 30” but I used a dowel rod and some weights and simulated how heavy barrel was going to be. I ended up going 28” and in a traditional tactical stock type of rifle the barrel at 28” is at almost perfectly balenced which I actually don’t like. It feels almost forward heavy on the bipod. I wish it was less weight forward, now gonna have to add weight to the back to offset it. When I rebarred after I shoot this one out. I’m gonna go 27”. Lol.

Awesome set up and great shooting. I plan on putting together a 7 saum on my nucleus. I hope I can get half as much accuracy as you. Glad to see your speeds too, that's what I'm going for as well.

I’m sure you won’t have a problem. I read a lot about people getting loads shooting really good really easily. Not sure if it’s just my barrel or what. But almost every load from 59-63 grains shot better than 1/2 moa .05-.01 jump and no big viariance in group size. Getting a load dialed was stupid easy. It was basically done in 30 rounds, I’ll call it at 50 but that last batch was pretty unnecessary.
