New build plan, wanted to get the heads up

I have been having a lot of fun with my 5R, but I'm starting to want to reach out farther.

I have been reading the 700p 338 thread and its got me thinking, witch is never good thing when you have money laying around.

So it seems that there are two different versions of this rifle, but I haven't been able to find the differences.
The thread also states that they are not for sale to the public, how did some of you fellas get around that?

Another thing is, I live in the north west, so we get a little bit of rain here, now coming from a totally stainless rifle, I wanted to ask a couple things...how does the rain play on that parkerized finish?

With my 5R, I....dont really do anything, maybe just wipe it off after a rain filled day and that it.

Anything you guys can tell me would be awesome.

This is what I know...

Remington made the .338 LM about 2 years ago or so... it was a NON detachable mag version..

Then... recently the MLR series came out which has the detachable mag system... a muzzle brake... and SOME rumors of a different barrel...

There are some out there for sale... just have to look around... they are a tad scarce... but they are available.
