new car urge

If you don’t have to have the absolute fastest drag race vehicle, a new Ford F150 Raptor R might be a good pick too. Very nice ride, and fast as hell. I have a regular Raptor, but another neighbor has the Raptor R (as well as a Porsche Turbo S, LoL), and it’s fast as hell. Sounds great too…I love that V8 rumble.
Good friend of mine owns a PPF shop so I will stop by and check out all the new vehicles there getting PPF.

A brand new Raptor R was there a few weeks ago and he said they were selling for $150K.

Serious Question: Why not just up your budget and get into a supercar?

This might sound "wrong" but if you can afford 175, you could probably afford something twice the price, and at age 72, get what you want and have some real fun.

I truly believe, that if you are not turning around to look at your car/motorcycle as you walk into a store, then you are driving the wrong car. Get that car that makes you turn and admire!!

Edit: A 12-cylinder NA supercar would possibly appreciate in value since everything is moving to smaller, turbo-charged, hybrid engines. Just look how the Murcielagos have gone through the roof. People still want manual V12’s

And if the dealer being too far away is a concern for warranty, a simple solution is to get AAA services for a year, it's probably less than $100, and you get like 500 miles of free towing. If the car needs to go back to the dealer, call AAA, have them haul it to the dealer for you. Just an idea that might reopen some other cars brands.

My 2 favorites(they aren’t new though) would be any w221 or later S65 or w213 E63(my pick would be a wagon)
The old E63 wagon was niiiiiice!

Really wish they’d have brought the C63 over to the US market; got to drive one when we lived in Germany…what a hoot!

Saw an M5 wagon a few days ago…that was cool as shit too. Here’s a brand new one local to me for $150K:

…gears inside my cranium turning…

Edit: @sloporsche you suck! :ROFLMAO: I think you just cost me $150K…

To replace my wife’s X5 that got totaled back in February when a dude in a huge truck ran a red light and took off the front end of her car:

We wound up getting her a loaded Jeep Grand Cherokee as a replacement vehicle, but it’s just not the same. I’m seriously thinking of just cutting my losses and giving it to our son and his wife…they have a baby on the way and will need a larger car soon anyway.

We’re also looking at the AMG C-Class or E-Class SUVs, but they’re no longer available with a V8. And she has a long history of driving go-fast combis too!

She drove a 6-speed 528 e40 wagon for years, had an older 528 wagon in Germany, as well as a new A4 Avant, and a couple Lesbarus back when we were younger (and poorer too, LoL), etc. And while I’d prefer a Porsche Panamera wagon (almost $300K nicely equipped though ), or the Audi RS6, she likes the BMW better, and this would be a nice continuation of that tradition…

A guy I worked with in Germany had one of the V10 M5s. Got to do a few laps on the Nurburgring in it, as well as the high speed autobahn runs of course. I could beat him on lap times in my Cayman R, but he’d smoke me in any type of drag race…damn that thing was fast!

Loved the sound too! We’ve lost some magic in the modern era of car and drivetrain design…

Take that shit some where safe or to a track. Traffic light racing is for faggots.
I’m the furthest thing from fag and have done more than a little stop light drag racing. Here’s a funny fact. My 89 Chevy wasn’t all that fast, but it was loud. When I was getting smoked off the line by Hondas and Camrys I was making a lot of racket and blowing tire smoke. Don’t be a fudd

I used to like to get in the right hand lane and egg someone on to race in my old slightly built loud-ish truck, then turn right when the light changed or just take off normal. When I’d go straight we would have a laugh at the next light.

I’ll never forget a neon with a big turbo dragging my dad’s vette I was loosing it. He had no clue what was about to happen, but I did.

oh it has crossed my mind to up the budget even the wife has said that at our current spending rate we will never run out but some of those supercars are really not practical grocery getters and the never ending problem of no dealers in the area and i sure as hell aint gonna let clem at jiffylube give it a try . Hell we have 3 caddy dealers in a 50 mile radius and not one has a certified blackwing mechanic ,the closest is Atlanta.
