Just got my first chargemaster. Have loaded with a buddy's 1500 model before, but I got the lite for price reasons. I'll mainly be loading 6.5 CM with H-4350 and 45 ACP with Clays. Should I make any programming changes and/or buy one of the inserts? For 45 ACP, I have used the chargemaster and that's it. For my 6.5 CM, I run the chargemaster to .1 grains short and trickle on my balance beam. Not sure how much that matters for helping to provide advice.

Appreciate the help in advance!

There is no need for an insert on the lite version. I don’t believe you can change the programming on the lite.

Trickling up is certainly not a bad thing, but in my opinion it’s not needed when using the lite.

I’ve done testing on balance trickling vs lite alone and there is not much of a difference.

Very good to know. I'll set it to my target weight and put it on the balance for awhile and if it's not needed, then I won't mess with it.

I load to a pretty tight tolerance on the beam though. I don't tolerate it even being on the wrong part of the line.
