East Helena, Mt
All;

New shooter clinic has been rescheduled for July 24th at 8am. We are looking for shooters that have only participated on 2 or less matches with us. Please forward to any new shooters that may not be on our mailing list. Bring at least 20 rds. We will attempt to shoot at all the normal targets along with a few others. Distance will be from 250-1034 yds. Targets will be all steel, no paper. We are shooting across the canyon pictured, so no wind flags. DA should be in the 9000' and temps in the high 80's to mid 90's. Wind will be approx 5-50mph.

We have items to give away. $5 donation, no registration fee.

Please email me if you plan to attend so I know how many to watch for.

Directions.

Feel free to email or call with any questions or concerns. [email protected] (928) 308 8093

Re: New competition shooter clinic in Az.

I and my daughter would be very interested in attending this clinic she is a 3p sporter and precision air rifle competitor and I am a coach of said sports. We don't have a lot of long distance shooting experience but are looking to learn the sport. We currently have very basic equipment so would be coming to get a feel for upgrades and experience (so don't laugh to hard). Thank you Jeff Stewart, coach BUHS air rifle team

We would love to have you guys up. Things we are gonna cover include comprimised shooting positions, wind calls, adaptability, target identification and general LR shooting fundamentals. It is a great group of guys and gals and we provide plenty of laughs ourselves. All targets are steel and vary from 250 yds to 1050ish yds and almost none are flat shots. Most are of some angle from 0-40 degrees, either uphill or downhill. General gear would be bipod, rear bags, data for gun and caliber(although I will bring ballistic calculator), water, sunblock, snacks, ammo(min 20 rds per shooter) and a great attitude. We are doing this to make it an easy step into the matches and overcome that anxiety that prohibits new shooters from attending a match. Please feel free to email or call with any questions.

Please email me so I know how many will be there.

Re: New competition shooter clinic in Az.

But you would be getting out of the heat. Without weeks to start from scratch we are gonna try to cover basics of wind calls, target identification (locating the targets at distance), comprimised shooting positions and fundamentals of LR shooting. We are trying to use this to bridge the gap from shooter who thinks they can do it and proving that they can!. That mental block keeps most from attending a match. Our sport is compromised of mostly men but all of us have been beaten by a great lady shooter (your welcome Gina) who won the last match. Please email me if you plan to attend, just so I know how many will be attending or if you have any concerns or questions.

Brad,
It was very nice meeting you and all of the great people that showed up today. We had a blast out there and really appreciate you putting that together.
I learned a lot today and hope to come out to a few matches in the future.
Now its time to start looking into switching my rifle build! Thanks buddy!

Re: New competition shooter clinic in Az.

Hey Brad, I wanted to thank you for having me and my GF at your event. It was our first time at those larger distance and in compromised positions, but with your guidance we were happy with the results. Hopefully we will be out there again, we really enjoyed it.

Re: New competition shooter clinic in Az.

Brad, I always enjoy your shoots, and the Iron Springs range is really a challenge. I was using a Rem 600 in 260 Rem bedded into a H&S Precision stock. The only trouble I have is using mil dot reticle and using holdover. The guys that really did well, had dope and a scope they could dial in. I only hit 2 A's and 1 B, but it still helps to build confidence to attend other matches. I hope to get a new scope soon that I can dial my dope in. Then with some more practice, I can up my percentages. Craig R.
