I've been a pistol shooter (mainly 1911s) for 15 years and finally bought my first bolt action. I got into a Bergara HMR .308, with a Viper Diamondback Tactical 4-16 on top. Since I don't know anything about this hobby yet, I didn't want to spend a ton on an optic and then realize I should have gotten something different as I continue to learn. So I went the cheap route up front. Looking forward to learning more and getting better.
I have access to a 600 yard range, and looking forward to getting some rounds downrange this summer.
