What's up guys? I've been lurking for quite a while now and figured it was time for an introduction before I start replying to some random threads. I'm currently a weapons squad leader in the Infantry (Army), and run a good bit of my company's marksmanship training. I'll do SRM here and there but usually leave it to the couple of 3 gun guys we have here. Primary I focus on BRM and MRM(out to 600 with M4s) pretty often. I've always been into shooting but in the last year or so I've gotten myself deeper into the long range aspects of it. Besides work experience I shoot most weekends when I can out to about 800m(unfortunately it's the longest range I can find in my area, I'm at ft. Campbell, and suggestions?).

Current rifles are a remington 700 in .308 in a krg bravo with an Athlon helps and an RPR in 6.5 with a gen 2 pst 5-25. I'm still working on load dev for the. 308 but the 6.5 is dialed in right now with 147eld-ms grouping in the .5 to .7 range with 10 round groups( I'd attach pictures if I knew how lol). The gun is almost boringly repeatable out to 800, so I think it's time to get into some positional stuff with it.

I'm currently planning a build right now. Most likely a trued 700, mpa chassis, burris xtr ii and either 6x47, 6creed, 6.5creed, or 6x47, I haven't decided yet.

I'm on a trip at the moment, but once we get back I plan to find a semi local match to get my feet wet in and hopefully next summer I can make it to a handful of them

Anyway, that's my introduction, any questions feel free to ask

Rock Castle is in Park City, KY which is maybe 50 mintues or so N-NE of you.

Welcome and thank you for your service!

welcome from a former 3rd Bde Rakkasan. I assume you're shooting range 16, which is one of the best steel ranges in Middle TN or KY. You're lucky to have it. Strategic Edge in Chapel Hill has steel to 1250y but you have to be a member. ($75 per year for you) and K&M has steel out past 1300y I think. I'm not a member there so you would have to check the rules.

I you are interested in KD type matches (NRA style) hit me up. I can walk you through it. We have 1k KD ranges at Tullahoma TN and Oak Ridge TN and 600 yard ranges closer to to with the nearest in Henry Couny, about an hour off post.

Cool man thanks, I'll definitely be getting with you when we get back there. I'm hanging out in 2nd brigade. And yup range 16 is the easy answer for me for now. Where is k&m? I haven't heard of that one yet. And yea some KD stuff would be a good time to me, anything to change it up from just range time on the weekends is a plus

K&M is in Finger, TN about 2+ hours west of Nashville, closer to Memphis.
