Hey everyone!

Just wanted to post in the new member forum and introduce myself! I'm located in the Matsu Valley region in Alaska.

I am currently putting together my first Rem 700. I had a vision for an Alaskan brush rifle, sub 300m, primarily for moose hunting.

Rem 700 SPS AAC-SD 20'' .308
Pic mount
Burris AR-536 (yes I know it's an "AR" optic, I chose it on purpose)
Allen Bighorn sling
Bipod (can't remember brand anymore)
Future plan to bed the Hogue Overmold stock (ehhh) or purchase an A1 stock.

I don't have any plans for a brake or a suppressor, I mostly ended up with threaded because it was on clearance at the time. Though I eventually will probably get some use out of them.

I'm not a LR shooter, and I don't have a ton of experience with bolt action rifles. I have hunted big game my entire life so my knowledge is limited to that environment and my previous rifle was a .270.

I look forward to interacting with you guys and learning everything I can!

Thanks!
Chris

Well I moved here about two years ago and quite honestly haven't been to any ranges (for rifle shooting anyway). For pistol and AR I can just shoot in my back yard though which is pretty nice! Once my build gets done I'll be posting some snowy range photos!
