i just picked up a DPMS Oracle for $700 new and was told you fellas are a wealth of info on these types of rifles. hope to learn a lot.

thanks so much. i am a knife maker by trade, but i do love me some good rifles. this is the first .308 in a long time. it is my favorite round, i should be ashamed for waiting so long.

You'll like the Oracle. I just got one as well. The only upgrades I've done so far are an adjustable gas block and replacement railed hand guard. It's a shooter.

thanks, i have heard that it is a good idea to upgrade the extractor with a stronger spring and possibly an o-ring. any truth to that? i haven't had any troubles with feed or function.

there is a pretty big shop here in AL that is a DPMS dealer. they just happened to be having a weekend sale when i dropped by a month or so ago. i would have preferred a mid-length gas system, but i could not leave the Oracle on the shelf at that price.
